During the manufacture of workwear items, the fabric is impregnated with the insecticide Permethrin, using a patented process. Permethrin is an approved, widely-used agent which provides effective protection against crane flies, mosquitoes, ticks, lice and sand flies. The impregnation concentration is a mere 1300 mg/sq. m. (1/100th of the limit recommended by the WHO). As a result, skin irritation is very rare, and is confined to the most sensitive of skin types.

LHD's vector protection combines a highly-effective shield with maximum user comfort over an extended period. The impregnation retains its protective effect, even after 100 wash cycles at 60° Centigrade.
